The Story of Our Church
Bissonnet Baptist Church has served the Southwest Houston community for more than 28 years. On October 1, 1989, our founder, Rev. Steven E. Crampton, held our first Bible study in a small 1,200-square foot warehouse.
Soon after, our church moved to 5539 Pine Street in Bellaire, Texas. This was a historical move for us since we became the first ever African-American Baptist Church to be established in the city of Bellaire.
During our nine years there, we served the community through various outreach ministries such as food and clothing pantries, daycare, and summer camp programs. We are thankful that God used us to be a blessing during our time on Pine Street
Since 2000, we have held our worship services at the Hilton Houston Galleria Hotel. Rev. Crampton had been our pastor until his death on September 19, 2016.
Remnant Preserved
As we enter a new season, we, “The Remnant Preserved”, under the leadership of our new Pastor, Marc A. Flowers, are committed to honoring this faithful man of God’s life. Our church is determined to preach and teach the gospel of Christ to the lost, hurting, and oppressed all around us for the coming generations.
At present, we are based in Houston, Texas and look forward to serving the Southwest Houston community in the years to come. The Unsinkable Experience “…on this rock I will build my church.” – Matthew 16:18
Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the community we serve and beyond. Our goal is to bring the light and life of Jesus Christ to all people who are in need of help. As God will be our guide, He will lead us into the lives, homes, and hearts of those whom we are called to serve.
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
Our Vision Statement
Our vision is to provide Spirit-led ministries designed by God to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to fulfill this by promoting help, hope, and opportunities for all people to become better members of the community, that they may lead a Spirit-filled life in serving Jesus Christ.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
- Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
